Sam finished his AKC championship before turning a year, in six shows, finishing with 4 majors and a Bred-By-Exhibitor Group One.  He won multiple sweepstakes, including the competition at the 2006 PWDCA National Specialty where he defeated more than 100 other youngsters.  Besides being a multiple group winner, Sam won the Working Dog Class at the 2008 and 2011 PWDCA National Specialties.  He received two Award of Merit awards at PWDCA National and Regional Specialties .

In addition, Sam has multiple advanced agility and water titles.

Sam received a Gold Register of Merit award at the 2012 PWDCA National Specialty.  The PWDCA Register of Merit Program is an acknowledgment of outstanding working ability and versatility in the Portuguese Water Dog.

GROM: The Gold Register of Merit expands on the degree with which the working dog must perform, as well as allows honors to be recognized for an outstanding single accomplishment(s). To be eligible for the Gold Register of Merit, a dog must have earned at least six titles/awards from at least three different areas of competition. Two of the dog's titles must be PWDCA titles (e.g., AWD and WWD). The dog must have earned an award, or have earned a title from a fourth area of competition. A minimum of two advanced titles are required (the WWD counts as one of these). Finally, there must be either an additional advanced title, an award, or an advanced PWDCA water title.

In 2015, as a veteran, Sam was owner handled to an AKC Grand Championship.

Sam has consistently produced puppies with his wonderful temperament, sound movement and correct structure.  He has sired multiple breed champions and performance titlists.
